Known as the Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, Cinco de Mayo is the national holiday in Mexico in honor of a military victory won over the French militia of Napoleon III in 1862. Emergency Ice and the ice delivery team are here to celebrate this great victory of Mexico through the celebration of the Mexican culture and heritage.
Although the holiday is relatively minor in Mexico, in the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, especially in parts of the country with a large Mexican-American population, like Texas. Many of the Cinco de Mayo traditions include parades, music performances, cultural dances, and festivals across Mexico and the United States. Each year Emergency Ice participates in the festivities in the area by providing Dallas ice delivery service. Some festivities in the area request our other services such as ice sculptures as well; we can carve an ice sculpture to meet your festivities specific needs and design requests. Not only are we your premier Dallas ice company, but Emergency Ice is also your premier Fort Worth ice company too!
During the same time frame that Emergency Ice was started, the Chicano activists raised awareness of Cinco de Mayo in the 1960’s because they identified with the victory of native Mexicans over European invaders during the Battle of Puebla. To this day, the holiday is celebrated throughout the country, some of the largest festivals are held in Chicago, Los Angeles, and our neighbors in Houston. In Dallas the big celebration was held over the weekend on May 3rd, known as The Dallas Cinco de Mayo 2014 Big Parade & Festival, which was the 24th annual celebration in Dallas. The celebrations won’t stop there; restaurants of all types throughout Texas, especially Mexican restaurants, will be packed full as Texans of all kinds enjoy the Mexican cuisine in celebration of their victory. Not only will we be celebrating as well, but our ice delivery team will be ready for any last minute calls for a Dallas ice delivery.
