Fun Flavored Ice Cubes

Remember when you were a kid and you would pour fruit punch into a bathroom Dixie cup and freeze it with a popsicle stick to make your own fruity popsicle? It was cool and tasty. Well, now you are a grown-up, but you can still make beverages more fun tasty with fun flavored ice cubes.

Coffee Flavored Ice Cubes for Breakfast

Let’s start with our morning brew. Why not go for iced coffee? Try filling some ice cube trays with strong coffee and freeze them. Simply add a few to your morning iced coffee without watering down the taste.

Some people feel a mix of regular ice cubes and coffee ice cubes make the perfect blend of morning yum. Or, for Chai fans, add some chai tea ice cubes to a glass of milk with a garnish of cinnamon. As those ice cubes melt, your milk becomes a latte with that spicy taste you savor.

Fun Fruity Ice Cubes for Lunch

Add Fruit to Your Tea:

Lunch time tea? If you are a flavored tea lover, raspberry or peach ice cubes. It is easy to puree your favorite fruit, add some extra water, then pour into ice cube trays and freeze.

Make Your Own Ice Mocktail:

Another idea is to dissolve 1 tablespoon of sugar to 1 cup of water, add some lemon juice and a fresh raspberry to each cube. You can even add a sprig of mint to each one. Freeze for a refreshing ice cube add-in.

Lemonade Ice:

How about some lemonade ice cube fun? Freeze your lemonade into cubes and add into your iced tea for an easy-peasy Arnold Palmer. All of these will add some fun to your everyday iced tea.

Adult Ice Cube Flavors

How about some adult beverage fun cubes? To add a cool splash of fun for adult beverages, add some alcohol to your ice cubes.

  • Soak some melon balls or raspberries in vodka or tequila for about an hour.
  • Freeze in ice cube trays with water or alone.
  • Add to your favorite mixed drink for that added kick.

Wine Flavored Ice

If you are a wine lover, keep your white wine cool by buying two bottles of your favorite and using one to make wine ice cubes.

Flavored Ice Cubes for Kids

Don’t skip the kids when it comes to ice cube fun. Make up some fruit juice or Kool-aid in a few flavors. Pour a little juice in each section, freeze, then add another color (flavor), freeze, and then add just one more for 3-layer striped ice cubes. For a creepy twist, serve up fruit punch with gummy worms frozen into apple juice ice cubes. The screams will make you smile.

Freeze Edible Flowers

Another fun idea is edible flowers. You can find edible flowers online or at your local farmer’s market.

  • Fill water or a clear fruit juice a quarter of the way to a larger ice cube tray.
  • Add flowers facing down, and freeze.
  • Add more water to halfway and freeze again.
  • Fill to the top and freeze one last time.

Be sure to only use edible flowers like orchids, pansies, or snapdragons that have been grown to be eaten (to ensure they have not been treated with chemicals).

Use a Variety of Fruits and Herbs

When it comes to making tasty and fun ice cubes, don’t be afraid to experiment with great combinations like:

  • Raspberry
  • Mint
  • Lime
  • Kiwi
  • Strawberry
  • Blackberry
  • Thyme

Fresh herbs and fruit combos are a refreshing addition to your beverages.
